Falanghina is the workhorse white of Sannio, and Terre Stregate is one of the producers showing what it can really do. Svelato comes from estate vineyards in the chalky clay hills of inland Campania, fermented and aged in stainless steel to keep everything clean and fresh. The fruit is crisp orchard fruit and citrus, with a chalky, slightly saline finish. It’s the kind of southern Italian white that punches well above its category versatile at the table and always a pleasure to pour.
