Dr. Loosen’s Ernie Loosen is one of the Mosel’s most influential figures, championing old ungrafted vines and unhurried, hands-off winemaking. ‘Blue Slate’ refers to the blue Devonian slate soils of the Mosel that give this Riesling its cool, mineral edge. Fermented with native yeast and left with gentle residual sugar, it clocks in around 8% alcohol an effortless, deliciously drinkable introduction to the estate. Serve it cold as an aperitif or with anything spicy.
