The Perli Vineyard sits at 2,000 feet on the wild Mendocino Ridge a true mountain Chardonnay site bordered by the Pacific to the west and Anderson Valley to the east. Elevation does the work here: it keeps the acidity sharp and the aromatics defined, while still letting the fruit ripen to a richly textured palate. Erin Mitchell and Randy Czech farm organically and work with as little intervention as possible. A serious-but-friendly California Chardonnay, equally at home with weeknight dinner or Sunday roast.
