Eric Boigelot farms a small patchwork of parcels across Volnay and Pommard, working organically and bottling tiny lots that rarely make it far beyond Burgundy. This Bourgogne Cote d’Or comes from Les Millerands, a lieu-dit on the slopes just below the village level old vines, low yields, and the same gentle handling Boigelot gives his 1er Crus. The wine is unmistakably Cote de Beaune Pinot: red-fruited, savory, lightly spiced, with the kind of cut and detail that punches well above its village. A serious little Bourgogne from a producer worth following.
