One of our favorite Rhone vignerons. Eric Texier farms on both sides of the river, at Brezeme on the eastern limestone and at St-Julien-en-St-Alban on the western granite and schist, and his stated mission runs against the current of his region: preserve freshness, highlight stony minerality, and avoid the heavy ripeness most Rhone producers prize. Adele is named for his daughter, a 100% Clairette from organically farmed granite soils, pressed whole-cluster, fermented spontaneously without sulfur in concrete, and aged on lees for six to eight months. No oak, no flash, just texture and stone.
