Les Perrieres is widely held to be the finest 1er Cru in Meursault many would argue it deserves Grand Cru status outright. The name comes from the stony, pebble-strewn soils (perrieres = quarries), and the wines are famously the most mineral and tensile of the village, with a cut that’s closer to Puligny than to the buttery Meursault stereotype. 2022 was a warm but proportional vintage that rounds Perrieres’ edges without softening them, producing a wine of ripe fruit, real authority and a long, stony spine.
