One of Italy’s most collectible white winesfrom a producer who makes fewer than 700 cases per year. Enzo Pontoni founded Miani in 1985 in Buttrio, Friuli, and has since earned a cult following for pristine, vineyard-driven wines produced at Burgundy-level quality. This Ribolla Gialla comes from the ‘Pettarin’ vineyard (named for the family who previously owned it) in the Rosazzo sub-zonehistorically recognized as a Grand Cru site for the variety. Vines are 80100 years old. Yields are kept absurdly low at around 10 hectoliters per hectare.
