Single-farm whisky is rare in Scotland, and Lochlea Our Barley is exactly that a Lowland single malt Scotch distilled entirely from barley grown on Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, the same ground Robert Burns worked as a young man. The flagship of the independent family distillery’s core range matures in bourbon, Oloroso sherry and STR casks, then goes to bottle at 46% with natural colour and no chill filtration. The pour is orchard-bright: pear syrup, cut grass and marmalade on the nose, golden syrup, pepper and rye bread on the palate, and a long finish of orange and beeswax. Reach for it as an everyday Lowland sipper, neat or with a drop of water.
