Jean-Marc Roulot’s Corton-Charlemagne is a more recent addition to the lineup, made under his negociant label from purchased fruit including Hautes Mourottes, Languettes, and Le Corton and it brings the same precision and clarity that defines everything from the great Meursault domaine. 2020 was a warm, sunny vintage that produced Cortons of unusual muscle, and Roulot’s version is no exception: mineral width, gentle spice, a saline savor and that almost burly density that marks the very best Corton-Charlemagnes. Production is tiny. Roulot at full stretch on Grand Cru terroir.
