The Bailly family has been making wine in Bue, in the heart of Sancerre, since the 18th century, and expanded into neighboring Quincy in 1995. Quincy is one of France’s oldest white-wine appellations and one of its best values, an alternative to Sancerre at a fraction of the cost. The Beaucharme bottling comes from limestone, clay, and gravel soils along the Cher River, and it is unfailingly bright, herbal, and Loire-classic.
