Chteau Le Puy has farmed this corner of Bordeaux’s Ctes de Francs since 1610, biodynamic before the word existed, with horses in the vineyard and Demeter certification today. They bottle as Vin de France rather than chase appellation rules, and each cuve is named for a family ancestor. Marie-Ccile is their white, made from Smillon farmed the same idiosyncratic way as the reds: native yeasts, no fining, no filtration, minimal sulfur. The result is a full-bodied, characterful white with real limestone-driven cut. This 2023 is the kind of singular, alive Bordeaux white you rarely see.
