Adele Rouze is one of this little Loire appellation’s stars, and she keeps it simple: a single cuvee of Sauvignon Blanc so she can pour all her attention into it. Her vines grow on sandy and gravelly soils over clay just west of Bourges, including old parcels her father Jacques planted as far back as the 1920s. Sustainably farmed, fermented cool in stainless steel and held on fine lees for texture, it’s a sharp, mineral, deeply satisfying white. A benchmark for value in dry Loire Sauvignon.
