Westland Solum 2nd Edition is a peated American single malt made from Skagit Valley Malting peat, matured a minimum of 48 months across three cask types: Cooper’s Reserve new American oak (43%), Cooper’s Select new American oak (14%), and first-fill ex-bourbon (43%). Only 5,212 bottles were made. Westland’s peat runs earthier and more terroir-driven than a typical Islay peat, reflecting the Pacific Northwest’s own smoke character rather than imitating Scotch. Bottled at 50% ABV. This is Solum’s second release in an ongoing peated single-malt series. Pour it neat first to catch the peat before adding water.
