Savoy is one of Anderson Valley’s most coveted Pinot Noir vineyards, and Radio-Coteau’s Eric Sussman handles it with a deft, cool-climate touch. Sussman farms organically and works with native-yeast fermentations, whole clusters and restrained oak to capture the foggy, far-northern character of these sites. Savoy’s deep alluvial soils and Anderson Valley’s cold maritime climate give a Pinot that’s perfumed, structured and savory rather than jammy closer in spirit to fine Burgundy than to ripe California. A single-vineyard bottling from one of Sonoma’s most thoughtful producers.
