2022 Release
Only 530 Bottles Produced
In November 2022,Michtersreleased one of the bourbon worldsunicorn bottles: the Michters 20-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon. 20-year-old bourbon doesnt make it to market that often for more than just the obvious reason. Not only is ita long time to wait, but also it is incredibly rare for the liquid inside to survive that long without becoming unpalatably oaked.
While we regularly sample all our Michters barrels to see how our whiskey is aging, we pay even extra special attention to our barrels once they are over 17 years old. At Michters we consider 17 to 20 years the “Fork In The Road Point” when certain barrels of whiskey can achieve an extraordinary level of quality. It is these particular barrels that our Master Distiller Dan McKee personally selects for our very limited bottling of Michters 20 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon.
The 10 Year Rye, 10 Year Bourbon and 20-Year Bourbon expressions reflect the exceptional results of uncompromising craftsmanship and Kentuckys unrivaled climate for aging outstanding whiskey. Often much older than the age statement on the label, only a select few barrels age with the elegance required for inclusion in these highly limited releases.
” Just exceptional whiskey. A delicate yet powerfully moving blend that I’m not soon to forget. Now I just wish I could get my hands on a bottle! Cheers folks.” – Nick Anderson, Amongst The Whiskey (5/5)
“As rich and wonderful as the rest of this bourbons experience is, that finish marks it out as something special.” – The Whiskey Reviewer (95 Points)
“But is it worth $1,200 or $7,950 or $10,190? It’s hard not to shake my head at bottles of booze that sell for more than a decent used car. Regardless, this was a phenomenal bottle and one that I will cherish with good friends.” – The Whiskey Wash (10/10)
