Vide-Bourse sits directly below Btard-Montrachet, sharing a property line with one of Burgundy’s most famous Grand Crus. That proximity shows: the wine consistently delivers more density and gravitas than the typical Chassagne 1er Cru. Marc Colin’s parcel was planted in 1985 on deep clay-limestone soils, and the family farms it with a light hand, aging in barrel (around 20% new) for 18 months on fine lees. 2019 was a warm, low-yield vintage that produced wines of real concentration and ripe stone-fruit generosity. This is the family’s third release of Vide-Bourse and it slots in just below their Btard in scale and presence. A wine to cellar with confidence.
