At twenty-five years, Glen Scotia 25 Year Old is one of Campbeltown’s oldest core single malt Scotch bottlings, gently matured in American oak and married in first-fill bourbon casks. Bottled at 48.8% with natural colour and no chill filtration, it carries the coastal character the distillery is known for: an Atlantic, maritime nose of sea spray and vanilla oak, a palate of red apple, tangy orange peel and caramel sweetness, and a long finish of sea salt cut with ground ginger. Age has smoothed it without stripping the salt-and-spice backbone that marks a Campbeltown malt. This is a bottle for slow, neat pours; add a few drops of water to open the older oak, and skip the ice.
