Don Julio Gonzlez began making tequila at age 17 in 1942, borrowing 20,000 pesos to build his first distillery, La Primavera, in Atotonilco El Alto. He changed the industry by planting agave further apart for better growth and harvesting only at full maturitypractices now standard across Jalisco. Three generations of jimador families have worked with Don Julio since 1947. This Private Cask reposado is a single-barrel or small-batch selection aged 2-12 months in white oak, highlighting individual barrel character rather than blended consistency.
