Meix Chavaux is one of the lieux-dits that built Roulot’s reputation – a village-level parcel that Guy Roulot was among the first to bottle separately, decades before single-vineyard Meursault became a category. This is the 2011, now fourteen years from harvest, drinking with the kind of patina that only mature Meursault delivers: yellow fruit deepening toward honey, citrus turning to lime peel, the texture broadening but the line of acid still tight. A glimpse of how the domaine’s village wines age – which is to say, beautifully.
