Dominique Lafon has Burgundy in his blood, and Domaine des Comtes Lafon stands as undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest Chardonnay producers. When Dominique took over from his father who famously “never worked in the vines” he insisted on a more hands-on approach, learning to ride a tractor much to the amusement of his more tractor-savvy neighbors, and converting the estate to organic and biodynamic farming. The village Meursault is the gateway to the Lafon style: richer textures, longer levage, and that classic Meursault generosity. The 2023 is the village wine done at the very highest level.
