Les Rondos is Domaine Courbet’s single-vineyard Chardonnay, 100% from a 0.7-hectare mid-slope parcel planted in 1987-88 on Jurassic clay-limestone. It’s raised in topped-up barrels (no veil here) for a clean, terroir-driven expression that shows what Jura Chardonnay can do. The Courbet family has farmed since 1869 and works biodynamically on the slopes below Chateau-Chalon, with Jean-Marie and Damien at the helm. The 2023 is precise and mineral, all about the site.
