Owned by Champagne Bollinger since 1999, Domaine Chanson has quietly become one of the more reliable addresses in the Cote de Beaune. The Marconnets vineyard straddles the border between Beaune and Savigny-les-Beaune, and this bottling comes from Chanson’s near-monopole holding on the southern, Beaune-facing side around 3.8 hectares (about 40% of the climat). Vinified 100% whole cluster in the Chanson style of “infusion over extraction,” the 2022 is generous and well-built, with crunchy dark fruit, floral lift, and a structured frame that promises good things with another few years in bottle.
