(The ‘Cune’ name, by the way, is a printer’s happy accidenta misread of the initials C.V.N.E.) Tempranillo leads, rounded out with Garnacha and Mazuelo, aged a year in American oak in the classic Rioja style. It’s medium-bodied, fresh, and fruit-forward, with just enough oak-driven vanilla and spice to feel traditional. The quintessential everyday Rioja, and a benchmark at the price.
