Made by the Guinaudeau family of Chteau Lafleur, this is the white from their home estate in Mouillac, just north of Fronsac (bottled as Bordeaux Blanc, here in magnum). The Guinaudeaus apply the same obsessive farming and winemaking they’re famous for in Pomerol to a Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend grown on clay-limestone soils. Grand Village Blanc is texturally rich, mineral, and built for the table. The 1.5L format is the kind of bottle to plan a long dinner around.
