Distilled in 1992 and bottled 29 years later, Bruichladdich Black Art 09.1 is an unpeated Islay single malt Scotch whisky built from a cask recipe the distillery refuses to disclose. Black Art is head distiller Adam Hannett’s sealed-book series vintage, age and strength are published, and nothing else. Edition 09.1 draws on pre-revival stock laid down before the distillery’s 2001 rebirth, is bottled at 44.1 percent, and runs 12,000 bottles worldwide. The profile reads deep and layered: baked banana, mango and apricot over brown sugar, chocolate, coconut and slow old-cask spice. Pour it neat, give it air, and let a three-decade whisky take the evening at its own pace.
