La Moussiere is the beating heart of the Mellot estate, a single 34-hectare sweep of limestone hillside that the family farms as its flagship, biodynamically, generation after nineteenth generation. This is the wine that makes the case for Sancerre as one of the great white terroirs of France. All Sauvignon Blanc, rested on its lees and raised across wood, concrete, and steel, it’s fresh and finely cut, with citrus, a green herbal snap, and that silky, chalky minerality that only limestone gives. Serious Sancerre that still goes down easy.
