It comes from two of the estate’s oldest parcels at the very top of the Avize hillside, where clay sits over the chalk and gives the wine broad shoulders and a richer, more muscular frame. The 50-plus-year-old Chardonnay is barrel-fermented with native yeasts and finished nearly bone-dry, trading precision for texture and depth. It’s the richest, most powerful bottling in the range from a grower estate quietly ranked among the Cote des Blancs’ very best.
