Twenty-one years in oak give Aberfeldy 21 Year Old its trademark depth, a Highland single malt Scotch built around the distillery’s signature heather-honey character. Drawn from a mix of sherry, bourbon, and re-char casks, it pours rich and creamy: floral honey, dried fruit, and toasted coconut on the nose, macadamia and beeswax with orange and silky oak on the palate, and a long finish carrying a faint trace of smoke. At 40 percent it stays elegant rather than heavy, the kind of dram that opens up with a few minutes in the glass. Serve it neat, no ice, when you want an aged Highlander to sip slowly after dinner.
