Peach, lemon and mint in a can, which turns out to be exactly as good an idea as it sounds. Yonder presses its fruit in Wenatchee, in the heart of Washington’s apple country, and builds ciders around cocktails instead of around tradition, blending juicy culinary apples with the aromatic, tannic cider varieties that give the stuff spine. Hot Yonder Summer began as a small-batch collaboration with Chuck’s Hop Shop, under the frankly superior name Hot Chuck Summer, and it earned itself a permanent spot. It lands tart and juicy at the same time: peach out front, lemon cutting across it, mint arriving cool on the finish. At 6.9% there is enough here to notice without a 16oz can becoming a commitment.
