Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Five-Malt Stouted Mash builds a Kentucky straight malt whiskey from a grain bill that reads like a stout recipe. The seventeenth release in the annual Master’s Collection, it runs five malts through the same triple pot-still distillation practiced at the brand’s Irish-built stone distillery, constructed in 1838, then rests the spirit in oak until it drinks like dessert: roasted malt, toasted hazelnut, milk chocolate, and orange zest, with cocoa carrying the finish. Master’s Collection bottlings are one-time experiments, and once No. 17 sells through it is gone for good. Pour it after dinner where a porter or an Irish whiskey would normally go this one splits the difference between the two.
