A founding member of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission, Westward starts where most distilleries don’t: by brewing a full American ale from scratch. Founded in 2004 by Christian Krogstad in Portland, Oregon, Westward ferments 100% locally sourced malted barley with craft ale yeast, then double pot-distills the beer in bespoke low-reflux stills designed to preserve the ale’s character. Aged in new, heavily toasted and lightly charred American oak. Each Single Barrel Selection showcases one cask’s unique personality.
