A perfectly cellared back-vintage from a quietly brilliant Castillon estate. Vieux Chateau Champs de Mars sits in Castillon-Cotes de Bordeaux on the right bank, near Le Puy, where Regis Moro farmed organically and worked with low intervention long before it was fashionable, spontaneous fermentations, no new oak, gentle bottling. This Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Franc comes from clay-limestone soils and, now twenty-five years on, the 2000 vintage is in a beautiful mature window. A rare chance to drink aged Bordeaux done right.
