Madonna del Piano is Valdicava’s flagship Riserva the estate’s most ambitious bottling, drawn from its top parcels and aged longer in large Slavonian oak. The 2019 was a warm, generous vintage that produced ripe, opulent Brunello with abundant fruit and velvety tannins. Compared to the more classical 2016, the 2019 is the hedonist’s vintage: more immediate, more luscious, more flattering early on, while still carrying the structural backbone to age for a generation. In magnum, the slower evolution will reward patience handsomely.
