Family of Aquilino, Joel Barriga produces his mezcals in the high desert oasis of Hacienda Tapanala, just an hour from Aquilinos palenque, & situated against rising hillsides. The genetic mother of Tequilas Blue Weber agave, Espadn typically takes 7 12 years to mature & is the most prolific species used in mezcal. Terroir and the makers hand mean that Espadn styles vary greatly. Don Joel takes a slightly deeper distillation cut, producing a rich profile resulting in one of the brightest, fruit-forward mezcals in Vagos lineup.
