Uccelliera’s Rapace anchors itself in Sangiovese (70%), then adds Merlot (20%) and Cabernet (10%) for complexity. The vineyards sit in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, southeast of Montalcino, on well-exposed hillsides. The 2022 underwent 18 months in small French oak barrels, building layers of dark fruit and integrated wood aging. Bold enough to stand alone, refined enough to improve with cellaring. Not a Brunello, but a wine with serious ambition. Arriving February 2026.
