Trail Marker makes some of California’s most thrilling cool-climate reds, and this Pinot Noir comes from the haunting Saveria Vineyard high in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a site they earned access to through legendary viticulturist Prudy Foxx. Drew Huffine and Emily Virgil farm cold coastal ground and work with a transparent, whole-cluster, no-new-oak approach that lets the place speak. The result is bold but savory, with crushed cranberry, wild strawberry, herbs, and spice over chalky minerality and bright acid. A few years on, it’s drinking beautifully with more room to grow.
