Montepulciano is Abruzzo’s flagship red, and the Di Camillo family’s “Ottobre Rosso” cuve is the everyday-priced expression of what makes the grape so rewarding: deep color, plush dark fruit, friendly tannins. The wine sees fermentation and aging entirely in concrete no oak which keeps the fruit pure and the texture supple. The 2022 vintage is generous and ripe but well-balanced, the kind of bottle that disappears quickly at the table without anyone overthinking it. Abruzzo at its most honest and most useful.
