Sylvie Esmonin’s domaine sits at the foot of Clos Saint-Jacques the legendary 1er Cru that is the centerpiece of her range and her Vieilles Vignes is the village-level Gevrey made from her oldest holdings, some vines pushing 80-plus years and approaching their centenary. Sylvie took over the estate from her father Michel and has farmed it biodynamically for over two decades. The 2022 vintage delivered ripe, balanced reds across the Cte de Nuits, and at this old-vine concentration the wine punches well above its village address, with the power and complexity that fans of Gevrey come here for.
