Seresin makes the Sauvignon Blanc that converts people who think they don’t like Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Filmmaker Michael Seresin founded the estate in 1992 and has farmed biodynamically since the early days today it’s the largest Demeter-certified property in the region. The fruit is hand-harvested across seven parcels, wild-fermented, and roughly a third of the wine sees neutral French oak. A splash of Semillon adds a leafy, savory edge. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc with texture and grip rather than the usual passionfruit pyrotechnics more Loire in spirit than Cloudy Bay.
