Trousseau is a Jura red — pale, perfumed, far more about earth and spice than fruit — and Mike Lucia grafted it at Cole Ranch in 2020, inside America’s smallest AVA. This is one of the first releases off those vines. Everything was destemmed and fermented in an egg-shaped tank, a deliberate choice to keep the variety’s identity intact rather than bury it under stems and extraction. Lucia picks for earth and texture rather than power, so the alcohol stays low, the acid stays high, and the color stays translucent. Give it a light chill and it comes alive. There is very little of it.
