Ya Moon is Reeve’s chillable Pinot, and the 2023 is the debut from a new source: the organically farmed Stroh Vineyard, up in the elevated reaches of Mendocino’s Potter Valley. Everything about it is built for lightness and lift – fermented with 100% whole clusters and native yeasts in a carbonic style, then aged just six months in neutral French oak with very little sulfur. It lands around 12.5% alcohol, which tells you most of what you need to know. Put it in the fridge for twenty minutes and take it outside. It’s a joyful, floral, gulpable Pinot Noir that doesn’t ask you to think very hard, and there’s real skill behind that.
