This is the flagship red of Preston’s Rhne program Lou Preston’s homage to the southern Rhne blends that inspired him to plant Grenache, Syrah and Mourvdre in Dry Creek long before anyone else in Sonoma was paying attention. Farmed organically and biodynamically (Demeter certified 2015), the L. Preston typically anchors on Grenache and Syrah with Mourvdre, Cinsault and Carignane filling out the chord. Plum and raisin fruit, a dusting of garrigue, well-integrated oak and a tension of acidity that keeps it on the dinner table rather than under it.
