Morey-Blanc is the ngociant arm of Pierre Morey yes, the same Pierre Morey who spent 20 years as the head winemaker at Domaine Leflaive while also running his own celebrated Meursault estate. The Morey-Blanc label lets the family work with select purchased fruit beyond their domaine holdings, and the wines are made with the same hand: ambient fermentation, gentle handling, gravity bottling. Pitures sits mid-slope in Volnay, right against Pommard, lending this wine a touch more spine and structure than typical Volnay while keeping the appellation’s signature floral lift. Anne Morey now leads the cellar work and has been turning out increasingly dialed-in reds.
