Lagavulin 18 Year Old released for the Islay Festival, Fis le 2018. This bottling from Lagavulin was triple matured in refill and rejuvenated American oak hogsheads as well as ex-Bodega European oak butts and bottled at cask strength.

The whisky was personally selected by Iain McArthur.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Strong peat, obvious smoke, dust, raw rice, pineapples and mangoes. Roasted malt, cream frosting, vanilla ice cream, tobacco.

Taste: Juice, apple candy and tropical fruits such as mangoes and pineapples. Immediately after, there were obvious peat, vanilla cream mixed with tobacco and a light baked pastry.

Finish: Long lasting, light peat, lemon, orange peel oil, roasted malt, light vanilla, tobacco, and some bitterness like tea leaves.
