Kanosuke Limited Edition 2025 is another evolution in blending for these Kagoshima mainstays. Expanding on their core Double Distillery release, this limited-edition expression marries Kanosuke Single Malt with Hioki Pot Still whiskies and bottles them at a rockin 59% ABV. These whiskies are aged in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-shochu, New American Oak, and sherry barrels for up to 5 years before blending. As a first for this release, this blend sees the inclusion of ex-rum cask aged whisky, adding dimension to Kanosuke’s trademark mellow richness. A delicate bouquet of stewed apricot, jammy plum, earthy cinnamon, and sweet pastry cream unfolds from the glass leading to a remarkably complex palate. Flavors of ripe orchard fruit, riche crme brulee, and spicy ginger candy set the stage for a memorably lingering finish reminiscent of lightly salted caramels.
