At journeys end in the heart of our island, youll find them: The Sacred Mountain, The Mountain of the Sound and The Mountain of Gold. These are The Paps of Jura which tower over the landscape for miles around, commanding respect from visitors and our tiny island community alike.
The whisky bearing the name has been crafted to be as striking as The Paps themselves. This Jura 19-year-old single malt whisky is initially matured in American White Oak ex bourbon barrels before being finished in casks that have previously held an astonishing 40 year old Pedro Ximnez sherry. Rich, sweet and spicy, this whisky delivers flavours of ginger cake, vanilla, spiced pear and balsamic glaze, before a long, nutty finish.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep mahogany gold.
Nose: Ginger cake, vanilla and balsamic.
Taste: Macaroon, gingerbread, frangipane, and white chocolate.
Finish: Spiced pear, fig syrup and roasted walnut.
