El Buho Especial Arroqueno Mezcal Artesanal 2017 is a small batch mezcal made from 100% Espadn agave. It is produced in the village of San Juan del Ro, Oaxaca, Mexico, by a family of mezcaleros who have been making mezcal for generations. The agave is cooked in an underground oven, then crushed by a horse-drawn tahona and fermented in open-air tanks. The mezcal is then double-distilled in copper stills.
