This is white Burgundy from one of Chassagne-Montrachet’s most revered names, working a tiny half-hectare slice of a premier cru just over the hill. Domaine Ramonet has been a benchmark since Pierre Ramonet started buying parcels in the 1920s; today Jean-Claude and Noel run it. Les Murgers des Dents de Chien sits high in Saint-Aubin on pebbly limestone, a south-facing site whose Chardonnay rivals the family’s grander holdings for tension and cut. The 2022 is dry and precise. Give it a few years in the cellar, or decant if you open one young.
