The De Forville family has grown Nebbiolo in the village of Barbaresco since 1860, and five generations later they remain one of the appellation’s great traditional values. Their village Barbaresco draws on holdings that include the famous Rabaj cru, vinified the old-fashioned way and bottled unfiltered after roughly three years in cask. These wines are built to age, developing the complex fruit, earth, and floral notes that only patient, traditional vinification delivers. The 2022 is classic and savory, fairly priced for the pedigree. Decant now or cellar for the medium term.
