Evan – Wine Specialist, Woodland Hills
Comtesse Marion is one of my favorite value labels out there. Based in the village ofVias within the Languedoc-Roussillon region (South of France), all their wines are 100%estate and showcase the volcanic soil of the region. They are particularly famous forone of my favorite varietals, Viognier. A beautiful, vibrant wine that can be paired withpretty much anything and, at only $12 a bottle, will likely become a wine fridge staple foryou.
Comtesse Marion Viognier opens with complex aromas of elderflower, lime zest, andhoneydew melon. On the palate, notes of luscious stone fruit like nectarine and whitepeach give way to Anjou pear and cantaloupe. Unlike most viognier, this wine has afresh, intense acidity that compliments the vibrant fruit and luxurious silky texture. Pairsparticularly well with roasted chicken, spicy Asian dishes, and soft cheeses.
